What type of diving conditions can EANx mitigate the effects of?

Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) is specifically formulated to increase the proportion of oxygen in the breathing gas, which can effectively reduce the time a diver is required to spend at depths, thereby allowing for longer bottom times with lower levels of nitrogen absorption into the body. When divers use EANx, the increased oxygen levels lower the nitrogen levels in their diving gas mix compared to regular air. This results in reduced nitrogen exposure, which mitigates the risk of nitrogen narcosis and decompression sickness, particularly during longer dives.

While other conditions, such as extreme cold, low visibility, and high pressure underwater, can affect diving safety and comfort, they are not directly impacted by the use of enriched air nitrox.
